Denver Recycles

August 10, 2012 by Amy Cesario

One of the benefits of living in Denver (the city and county) is having free recycling and trash!  Okay, well they aren’t exactly free, they are included in your taxes for the year, but so many people don’t recycle because of the cost.  To get your recycling bin you can go online to Denver Recycles.  You can even sign up for reminders since they come every other week. It’s a great benefit to live in the City of Denver.

What do you recycle you ask?

  • Cartons – Milk, juice, eggnog, yogurt, etc.
  • Plastics – shampoo bottles, water bottles, detergent bottles, mayo/ketchup/mustard bottles, containers from the bakery department, etc.
  • Aluminum
  • Cardboard
  • Glass
  • Paper – Junk mail, newspapers, magazines, wrapping paper, paper bags etc.
  • Aerosole cans – empty

Is this important to you? Would you use the service or would it be too much trouble to you?  I have found I have 4 times more recyclable items than trash!

Living Denver,
