Washington Park Neighborhood

March 17, 2014 by Amy Cesario

Washington Park Sunset Bench Couple Water DLREV

The Washington Park neighborhood is one of Denver’s most popular neighborhoods, there are so many activities in Washington Park, it attracts people from all over the metro area.

You will see runners, walkers and bike riders any day of the week, whether the sun is shining or not.  On a spring Sunday like yesterday, I saw the regulars along with the volleyball tournaments, skateboarders, rollerbladers, baby strollers, parents, kids, grandparents, a lady running with a squirrel tail tied to her waist, people with jackets, sunbathers. People had picnics, beer, bottles of water, cameras, they were laying and reading books, others sitting in their chairs writing in books, playing Frisbee and catch with a baseball and football. There are dirt paths, paved paths, one lane and two. Cars are allowed on some little stretches, there are parking lots, water, boats, a boat house if you want to have a party, tennis courts, basketball, beautiful flower gardens in the summer, a playground for the kids, a little miniature dock on to one of the little bodies of water, tons of beautiful trees and oh, and how did I not mention the dogs! Dogs are everywhere, big, little, in buggies, pulling their owners, running, walking, and sleeping.

The neighborhood is very eclectic, there are 600 square foot apartments/condos and duplexes starting at around $180,000 all the way up to 7,000 square foot houses that have sold for up to $3,000,000. Many are original neighborhood homes built in the early 1900s and some are brand new. You will see Bungalows, Victorians, Tudors, Contemporary, Art Deco, Spanish Eclectic, Dutch Colonial, just to name a few.

There are restaurants and shops on either side of the park, mostly neighborhood, local types. When you live in this neighborhood, you’ll find yourself walking longer than you did anywhere else in the city because it is just so easy, at least that is what happened to me!

Below are the houses currently Active or Under Contract.  I’d love to have you see my neighborhood, let me know how I can help you.
