What an amazing event in the heart of Denver! After parking at the Webb Building a block away from Civic Center Park I stood at the corner with about 10 people carrying their skies. Such a strange feeling in the middle of the city! I met my friend, and from his office, we could see the ENORMOUS ski slope, to the east was the Capitol and to the west the City and County Building. The gorgeous lit building in the photos are the City and County Building of Denver…and I did not touch the colors…they were as amazing in person.
No details was spared, there was so much food, snacks, hot and cold drinks, the picnic tables had table cloths and BLANKETS lined the seats. So for those of us who were not wearing ski pants, it made us really really happy not to sit on the metal! As we were sitting and eating under the heaters we noticed that every single table had a box of Kleenex! (You know how your nose runs when it is below 40 degrees.) The restrooms at City and County Building were open…WHEW! There was a guy at the recycle bin to tell me what to do with my trash! Love it!!!
The skiers were amazing, the music was fun and the band “Switchfoot” was so excited to be there. Everyone was smiling, dancing having fun.
It was a fantastic event!!! Denver should be proud.
