The founding members of our vivacious Vespa gang (Vespidae Scooter Club) met in Union Station at the Mercantile for a cup of coffee to begin our ride. I was the leader today (my first time to be a lead) and it was Elsa’s first ride. She bought a crimson beauty yesterday; I can hardly wait to hear what she names it!
“Coffee shop adventures” was the theme of our first tour in 2015. The skies were cloudy; we all had jackets and were grateful as we pulled up to stop lights where the sun warmed us back up after buzzing through the cool crisp air. I picked a few places I wanted to try someday and a few old favorites.
We toured a few neighborhoods (Riverfront Park, LoHi, RiNo, Five Points, Cheesman Park and Washington Park), we stopped at some of the coffee shops and some we just checked out the location, the parking, the patios, books, bagels, pastries, etc.
The conversations along the way were awesome, Since it was Elsa’s first ride, she was telling me how it brought back memories of riding along the beach in Mexico and then we got onto a subject of riding through Tuscany to different bed and breakfasts, the group decided that was out or bucket list. One of the things I love so much is how my brain get’s so creative while riding. The wind blowing through me, we talked a lot, we laughed a lot, we left our blinkers on a lot. I’m looking forward to the next ride!!
