Last week I stopped in to see the National Western Stock Show Parade and I posted it on Facebook. My cousin called laughing, “that was the last place I ever expected you to check in to.” I reminded her that this year is about doing things I haven’t done before in Denver. I’m sure we went to the stock show with our class in elementary school, I may have taken my son once – oh, no… my sister did that. She has gone every year that she has lived here, and I know that I have gone a few times in my adult life with her but, my cousin is right, it is a little bit out of my normal activities.
The stock show has been around for 105 years, and attracts people from all over the world. The amount of entertainment is spectacular! Women love the shopping because it’s not the run of the mill clothing and jewelry that you can get at any western shop (I wonder if there are Alpaca wool socks here.). The kids events are amazing, their performances are just as impressive as the adult entertainers from the music to the Stick Horse Rodeo to the Mexican bullfighters, Pro Rodeos and Dancing Horses.
This is a must attend for anyone who hasn’t been! Click here for the rest of the entertainment line up and to order tickets. They even have discount tickets for facebook fans, so go like their fan page here.
