Sometimes We Just Need a Little Help

January 31, 2011 by Amy Cesario

When she first saw the sign on the corner of her block she was excited that I had another listing in her neighborhood! (YEA that would be great!)

Then she got home and realized her sign was gone. (Oh, bummer.) So then she thought that one might be hers. She was laughing when she called me, she was pretty sure it was the college students on the corner pulling a prank, “they haven’t been there very long but they are good kids” she said.

Thank goodness she is as resourceful as me and she has a better sense of humor than me. By the time I arrived at her house she had it propped up on the white picket fence. Since it is one of those big wooden arm signs, the sign men had to dig a hole to get it up the first time, they will probably have to do it again. (Did I just say that?)

Most of the time I am pretty darn resourceful. Today I looked at the sign propped up and decided I needed help. There are a few days when us Strong, Sexy and Single Women need help. I guess I need to call my son or dad tomorrow. Or maybe the sign guys so they can get it up by the weekend.

Yes, yes, my son and dad have been “scared for life” for the past 15 years because I say things like that out loud, in front of them. Sometimes I notice and sometimes I just hear, quietly under their breath, “What are you trying to do to me?”  Other times…”MOM!! REALLY…REALLY!?!” or how about…”She hasn’t even been drinking why does she do this to me?”

If you need a house in a cool neighborhood with fun neighbors, let me know, I have one!!

“dig a hole to get it up” … hmmm, if they have to do that, something’s wrong. Usually you get it up first, then you “dig the hole” …or maybe that just dig “the hole” … Ooooh Amy, Amy, Amy … what hast thou done to my brain this morning??
