Want to negotiate a seller to death?

April 5, 2012 by Amy Cesario

Denver HouseIf you are thinking you want to negotiate a seller to death, make her/him bleed to death by nickel and dimming over every single tiny inspection item or maybe just keep kicking him/her in the teeth by asking for more off of the price of the house with every opportunity presented,  so you can get the deal of a lifetime? You better think again.  Not in THIS Denver Market. We don’t have enough inventory. Remember the  past two years we have been telling you that it is a buyers market? It isn’t any more.

Buyers, I am not saying you can’t get a steal of a deal, because you can!  Prices haven’t started rising…YET.  Interest rates are still amazing so how do you work this market to your advantage so you are the winner?  You get your credit in order. NOW.  By the end of the week I will have some credit tips for you. Once your credit is in order and you have your earnest money ready (available in a checking account) you just need to find the perfect house for you (that is (80% or more of the things you want in a house).  That is how you “win”. Quit thinking you are going to muscle your way through it and be realistic when making an offer. Then be realistic when going through inspection, the sellers have limits too, you probably wont get everything you think you want.

Sellers, now is the time to start getting prepared.  Over the next couple weeks I will give you all the information you need to get ready to put your house on the market. Now is the time, before everyone else in the neighborhood puts theirs on too. Position yourself to get top dollar and don’t be afraid to listen to your gut and not your heart.

If you would like a private consultation on your next steps, give me call or shoot me an email.  I’d be glad to help.
